The challenge

Referral relationships drive DCZ Legal's practice — but the firm had no consistent structure for building them. Just occasional coffees and one-off events, with no standing reason to bring the same people back into the room.

Elder law and estate planning sits at the center of a web of professionals who all serve the same clients: wealth managers, family offices, accountants, real estate professionals, and other attorneys. Individually, DCZ Legal already had relationships with many of them. What was missing was a platform — something that gave the firm a recurring, credible reason to convene its best referral partners, instead of reaching out one relationship at a time.

What we did

Law Firm Partners worked with Judith to conceptualize a quarterly networking series designed around DCZ Legal's own practice area — turning the firm's specialty into the organizing idea for the room.

The concept: DC Fiduciaries

Given DCZ Legal's practice, we built the series around fiduciary duty — the thread that connects everyone who advises high-net-worth families and estates. "DC Fiduciaries" gave the series a name and a positioning that speaks directly to the professionals the firm most wants in the room, not a generic networking event.

The audience

We defined the series around the referral partners DCZ Legal is actually trying to reach:

The cadence

A quarterly rhythm — frequent enough to keep the firm top of mind with its referral network, infrequent enough to stay a genuine, well-hosted gathering rather than another recurring meeting on the calendar.

Attendees networking and talking with one another at a DC Fiduciaries event.
Referral partners in conversation at a DC Fiduciaries event.
Guests networking in small groups at a DC Fiduciaries event.

The result

DCZ Legal now has a defined, repeatable platform for referral development — tied directly to the firm's growth, not left to chance:
